2015 – Ontario Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Competition.

The 43rd Annual Ontario Sheet Metal Apprentice Competition was held in Kingston, Ontario from September 16-20, 2015.  Twelve Local Union Apprentice finalists from across the province competed in a 2-day competition which included pattern drafting, a theory exam and the fabrication of a copper project.  The fabrication portion of the competition was held at Market Square in front of Kingston City Hall on September 18, 2015, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  This public venue provides a showcase for our apprentices to demonstrate their skill and ability.

The top 5 finalists of this year’s Ontario Competition will go on to compete in the Canadian Sheet Metal Apprentice Competition in 2016 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  The 5 competitors moving forward are Donovan DuRandt, Local 562 Kitchener, David Dun, Local 30 Toronto, Joshua Wettlaufer, Local 562 Kitchener, Derek Dolar, Local 235 Windsor and Ryan Wilson, Local 47 Ottawa.
