NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS OF SHEET METAL WORKERS INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION EMPLOYED IN ICI SHEET METAL
Mississauga, ON – On Friday September 12, 2025 the Ontario Sheet Metal Workers’ and Roofers’ Conference (the “Conference”) appeared before Arbitrator Bernard Fishbein to set out the legal arguments in support of a fair monetary increase and to determine whether pension and benefits would be paid on hours earned in overtime.
The submissions were made by legal counsel to the Conference with the professional assistance of Economists and Accountants. Due, in part, to the amount of required evidence to make the best argument possible, the Conference sought an extension of time to prepare its case. This extension was agreed to by the Ontario Sheet Metal Contractors’ Association (OSMCA) and allowed by arbitrator Fishbein. Legal counsel to the Conference made submissions for almost 5 hours. As a result of the complexity of this matter the Conference and OSMCA require another day of hearing to finish their submissions. This hearing is scheduled to continue on October 7, 2025. At that time legal counsel to OSMCA will make submissions to the Arbitrator. Legal counsel to the Conference will then be given a final opportunity to reply before the matter is concluded.
Once the Conference has further information, we will communicate it to you right away.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
